How Can We Help?
If you live in a HOA, you will likely be required to get their permission to install solar. The homeowner is responsible for acquiring this permission.
The permitting process may vary from one municipality to another, but the general process is as follows:
- Axium Solar’s engineers will design site plans (AKA “drawings”)
- We will complete the permit application on your behalf
- If a structural report is required, we will arrange that, as well
- Included, will be material data sheets and other pertinent information
- We will submit all of the above-mentioned to the city
- The city’s plan reviewer will review the plans and documentation to ensure the solar array is designed according to safety and adhere to code. For residential installations, this typically takes approximately two weeks, but some cities may take longer
- Once the permit is approved, we will pick it up and bring it to you on the day we begin the installation. It must be installed in a visible location
- After the installation is complete, the city’s engineer will inspect the installation. Most places require both an electrical and building inspection
- When the inspections are approved or “green tagged”, the system can be commissioned (turned on.)
